Code of Conduct

Saline & Steelend Communities’ Code of Conduct for Website Postings

The Saline and Steelend Communities Website has been created to bring people together for the common good. It is a welcoming forum for timely information exchange and interaction, making lives easier and more interesting for the residents of our community.

This code of conduct is a set of guidelines that users, posting anything to the site, are expected to follow to bring about a kindly and courteous use of our facility.

They are:

1. Please be polite and respectful to other users

2. Avoid using inflammatory, vulgar and/or abusive language

3. Be inclusive and use a non-judgemental approach

4. Offer solutions and suggestions rather than criticising people’s ideas

5. Different opinions are welcome as they are the key to a great discussion but please avoid personal attacks, slurs, and swearing in your interactions.

6. We ask that you refrain from self-promotion and posting of unsolicited advertisements

7. Please keep in mind that chat is public space, so don't post anything that you don't want the world to see. There are some pages that are for residents eyes only.

8. We do not allow behaviour or content related to illegal activities. You may not use chat to publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, or other unlawful material or discussion.

9. We do not allow discriminatory remarks around race, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or gender or harassment of other users or residents.

If a user believes that another has infringed any of the above guidelines then they have the right to complain. A moderator from the moderator panel will investigate and appropriate action taken which may lead to the perpetrator being denied access to areas of the site.

If you wish to complain about the behaviour of a user on this site please contact a moderator at moderator@salinesteelend.org with a “screen grab” of the posting you are complaining about.
