Repairs to Steelend Main Rd

posted 18 Sep 2016, 08:45 by Ian Holmes-Lewis
The long awaited road repairs for the stretch of road between the two villages of Steelend and Saline are finally underway. The road had deteriorated badly over the last few years not least because of some extremely severe winters but also following the closure of the Forth Road Bridge over last Christmas when a huge number of cars and Lorries were diverted from the M90 motorway.

Cllr Bobby Clelland said “I have had a number of meetings with officers to ensure that this roadway received the priority it required. For many years this road received only a top dressing but now there will be a significant resurfacing programme.

However, just as the good news of the repair work was emerging there was a danger that, there would be no public transport out of the village.

Myself and Cllr. Helen Law have now been in contact with council officers to ensure that the 9.30am bus will run as normal.

And that a shuttle service will be provided at the following times to allow residents access from Steelend to Dunfermline and Oakley :-

Steelend 10.30 12.30

Oakley 10.55 13.11

Saline 11.03 13.36

Saline 11.03 13.03

Oakley 11.11 13.11

Steelend 11.36 13.36

The above journeys will operate via Dunfermline Bus Station, in conjunction with the attached Bus Time Table
