Self-starter with management skills needed to develop new community enterprise.

Do you have management skills? Would you enjoy being in at the beginning of an exciting new venture?

Do you have time to spare?

Two years ago, a voluntary group, the Friends of Bandrum Nursing Home, won a Scottish Care Award for their work with the long-term residents of the home. Building on their efforts and enthusiasm, Bandrum provided a beautiful space within its new development to be used as a community café and helped set up a charity called Brightside SCIO to run it.

The charity is now looking for a manager to grow the volunteer base, and ensure the café can provide the intended benefits to the residents, their relatives and the local community. Marketing experience and motivational ability are more important than knowledge of the catering industry. This is an employed post, with a salary of £1,000 a month, but the skills required would justify much higher pay. We are hoping therefore that someone would see this as useful additional income, and that they would willingly offer extra time on a voluntary basis.
